The Technical Account Manager will provide technical services to assigned Beauty and Personal Care customers for the purpose of sales growth. It will promote a distinction between Univar Solutions and our competitors by using a technical consultative approach to needs-based evaluations of the technology customers use.

 

Additional duties include adapting and implementing on a local basis, the product strategies and services; assisting field sellers and industry team members with joint calls; identifying which Univar technological product best suits the customer’s applications and developing strategies to promote customers’ adaptation and or conversion to Univar products.

It builds profitable sales, employing a consultative approach. Develops and maintains a long-term partnership with customers by using industry expertise. Uses Univar resources to provide solutions to customer needs and gathers market intelligence.

 

What you'll do

  • Develop effective customer relationships and actively seek new product opportunities.
  • Prepare technical presentations on cosmetic formulations for the customer's R&D department.
  • Support the customer's R&D department at a technical level.
  • Visit customers on high-profitability projects, create relationships and reliability on a technical level.
  • Follow the sales cycle (proposals, samples, visits, etc.).
  • Develop new perspectives proactively and supervise competitive activity.
  • Representing suppliers and exchanging market information effectively between the main trading partners, maintaining compliance standards.
  • Constantly monitor the market by mapping technological innovations, regulatory updates and reference legislation.
  • Keep the CRM system up to date, generating "Target Business Opportunities" that ensure growth.

 

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor's degree (technical or Chemistry preferred).
  • Successful experience (five years minimum) with a specialized product concentration in the Beauty and Personal Care industry. 
  • Experience dealing with customers at multiple levels, both internal and external, and supplier partners.
  • Proficient in the use of computers and MS Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle complex projects and multi-task responsibilities.
  • Ability to manage detailed work activities and be persistent in following up on details.
  • Possess tact, integrity and high business ethics.
  • Understand current issues and align sales efforts with stated company objectives.
  • Demonstrated selling skills & multi-tasking abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both oral and written, are necessary to communicate effectively inside and outside the organization.
  • Ability to travel.
  • You are fluent in German and English language.

 

Where you'll work

This is a home-based opportunity. Covered territory includes Germany and Austria. Candidates in the North-west of Germany are prefered.
