Technical Sales Manager - Food

The job
As a Technical Sales Manager you will provide technical sales support to develop the profitably of the Food business portfolio within an agreed customer territory alongside your Key Account Manager sales colleagues in the Nordics. You need to have a strong understanding of customer and markets dynamics and requriements.
Your daily work tasks will, among other things, include:
- Deliver on targets set for your existing customer base
- Achieve growth targets for new business into existing accounts
- Drive new development sales of functional products into new and existing customers
- Plan your territory to develop the business
- Plan, prepare, execute and follow up on customer opportunities
- Ensure a strong technical grounding in all key products
- Attend supplier training and industry forums as requested
- Keep up to date with technical trends in the markets & product portfolios
- Report all market information when found to correct Univar Solutions contacts
- Promote and follow up of all samples in timely manner
- Ensure all admin is completed in a timely manner and activity is logged
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has a previous experience and knowledge of the Nordics Food industry. You have proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. You have a university degree in Food Technology, or equivalent. To be successful in this role we also believe that you need to have a proven track record in sustainable business growth of the top line of the P&L. It is a requirement that you are fluent in English, both spoken and written, as it is our organizational language. Any additional Nordic language is considered a strong merit. A valid drivers license is a must for this role. We consider some experience in a technical distribution business is considered beneficial but not a requirement. Since we work daily with Salesforce, and Excel, we’re looking for someone with solid experience using these tools.

We are looking for a candidate who has strong interpersonal and communication skills. A hands on, collaborative, with strong team ethics and problem-solving attitude are somethings we wish for you to have. You have an active desire to keep an eye on emerging market trends in food and nutrition area. You are comfortable solving problems and handling situations independently when needed. But you also have great colloaboration skills and enjoy working togheter with your colleauges and a desire to suceeed. While you enjoy being a part of a team, you also appriciate working on your own. You are service minded and have a strong can-do mentality. A drive for self-improvement, ability and willingness to accept evolving responsibilities as the organization and expectations continues to grow is a work environment that you enjoy working in and get motivated by.
We think that you have the ability to pay attention to detail and accuracy, with strong planning and organisational skills You have an ability to work independently to tight deadlines; highly proactive and self-motivated. Your way of working is creatively and autonomously, develop creative strategies and come up with innovative solutions.
What does the team look like?
This role will focus on the Nordics, but you will work and collaborate with colleagues all over Europe. You will report to EMEA Food Technical Sales Manager, who is in Ireland. Some travel is required. Location can be at one of offices in the Nordics, or you can have a home office.
