Key Account Manager – Chemical Distribution & Services

 

 We are looking for a driven and commercially minded Key Account Manager to join our team and play a key role in developing and growing our strategic customer portfolio.

In this role, you will be responsible for building and growing long-term partnerships with key corporate customers. You will act as a trusted advisor, combining commercial acumen with technical understanding to deliver value-added solutions that support our customers’ business goals. You will work in close collaboration with internal stakeholders across sales, supply chain, product management, and customer service to ensure consistent delivery and high customer satisfaction. What does a Key Account Manager do at Univar Solutions?

As Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing and expanding relationships with large, strategic customers. You will act as a trusted advisor, ensuring long-term partnerships while identifying new business opportunities and driving profitable growth. Your mission is to strengthen relationships, so customers always choose Univar Solutions as their primary source of chemicals. The vision is creating new business and further diversify your portfolio and increase the customer base. You work independently and with a business growth strategy, setting your own action plan with goals and objectives. Work can be done as a hybrid from our office in Malmö and Home Office. You will spend time meeting customers onsite or via teams.  

 

Your main responsibilities will be:

 

  • Manage and develop a portfolio of strategic corporate accounts across the Nordic region
  • Build strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders at multiple levels
  • Drive profitable growth through upselling, cross-selling, and identification of new opportunities
  • Lead commercial negotiations including pricing, contracts, and agreements
  • Act as the main point of contact, ensuring a high level of service and customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with technical teams and suppliers to deliver tailored customer solutions
  • Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to proactively position Univar Solutions
  • Deliver against defined sales targets, margins, and KPIs

 

You’ll be measured on five Key Performance Indicators: Activity, Spot Business, Pipeline, Retention and Margin Management.

 

 

Who might you be?

We are looking for a commercially driven and relationship-focused professional with experience in B2B sales, and managing complex customer accounts. You have a strong business mindset, a proven ability to build trust at all levels, and a passion for driving growth. With a structured and proactive approach, you identify opportunities, navigate multiple priorities, and deliver results. Strong communication and negotiation skills come naturally to you, and you are confident in translating customer needs into value-adding solutions.

 

What else? Since communication is key to this position, professional proficiency in Swedish/ a Nordic language is a requirement, as well as a high level of confidence in English (written and spoken). This role requires a valid driving licence, and a company car is provided.

 

 

What does the team look like?

In the business unit you will find a team of over twenty commercial colleagues spread out in the Nordics. At our Headquarter in Malmö, you’ll find your Manager Oscar Gustafsson and approx. seventy colleagues in different functions and teams. We have a wide variety of backgrounds and span all generations of the current job market.
