Job summary - purpose of the role

You ensure that the stock quantity, quality and rotation is in accordance with business requirements for defined product range. You decide when, how and how much to buy/order in the most efficient way.

Your responsibility is to manage purchase quantities and timing in line with stock level and sales demand to maximize the rotation, minimize the working capital (the slow movers and aged products) while ensuring product availability (less out of stocks). Managing the whole processes from the Supplier order till the customer delivery. Within the team you will be reporting to Supply Chain Planning Manager.

 

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Responsible for the product availability and stock level for defined product range: monitoring/planning and purchasing all products for the local business in accordance to company goals and rules.
  • Coordinate the information in SAP on a daily basis, reacting to all messages and generating necessary purchase orders, transport orders and inform sales of expected delivery dates.
  • An integrated responsibility for all goods flows from Univar suppliers to Univar customers for a product range. The planner coordinates when the timely and complete deliveries to customers are at risk.
  • Shipments between Univar plants (Stock Transfer Orders).
  • Shipping & Custom clearings of inbounds with the logistics and customs team.
  • Inventory management: Availability for sales, total inventory to target, access inventory reduction, manage and report Bad inventory with Sites, Product management and Sales, re-orderpoints and safety stocks, hub and spoke network, lead-times.
  • Liaise with Suppliers, Product Management & Sales, Customer Service, Logistics, Operation and Financial department.
  • Review forecasts according to market evolutions.
  • To manage purchase related document flow.
  • Responsible for maintenance of Planning Parameters (Master data).
  • To pro-actively manage slow moving and aged stock through the business as appropriate.
  • To investigate and document any non-compliance in supply flow, propose solutions to avoid repetition of non-compliance.
  • To investigate and support in resolving supplier and customer complaints.
  • Comply with all company processes, policies and guidelines.

Qualifications & skills

  • Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, supply chain or equivalent advantageous
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience and understanding of working in an international environment, previous experience within purchasing, international trade import-export operations advantageous as well as retail or chemical experience
  • Good knowledge in MS Office, especially advance level of Excel is mandatory, knowledge in SAP is a must
  • Good skills in local language and fluent skills in English
  • You are proactive, reliable and service minded and able to work focused under pressure
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, and stake holder relations
  • High level of ownership is required
