What you'll do:

• Perform QC testing of food, pharma, and industrial products which are repackaged by Univar
• Review and approve batch records
• Prepare C of A’s for repackaged products
• Maintain lab tidiness and dispose of expired samples
• Maintain inventory of lab reagents such as ensuring reagents are within expiry date and ordering lab supplies as required
• Periodically test field samples and customer samples
• Responsible for lab equipment calibration/verification, PM, and any other lab equipment maintenance
• Conduct OOS investigation; including reporting
• Prepare and participate in audits
• Act as a technical liaison between suppliers and customers
• Develop procedure to improve lab operation efficiency and safety
• Prepare blend samples for customers when required
• Perform other duties as assigned by Technical Services & Lab department

What you'll need:

• University degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering is required
• Experience with lab equipment such as ICP-OES, GC, IR, Auto-titrator, Density Meter, Kinematic Viscometer, Karl Fischer, GC, Refractomer, wet chemistry etc…
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience is preferred
• Knowledge of TDG/WHMIS, ISO, cGMP, EPA, and FDA regulations is preferred
• Ability to multitask, work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
• Good problem solving and communication skills an asset
• Work effectively either independently or in a team
