As a Regional Commercial Business Unit Manager you will direct and coordinate the operations of the business unit. Design and implement strategies, policies, and commercial actions in accordance with the business’s growth objectives, national market needs and behaviors, ecological and governmental requirements, ensuring optimal product commercialization with clients and maximizing company value.
What you´ll do:
- Design the commercial and sales strategies for each product line, promoting the company’s products to achieve sales targets and optimize business profitability.
- Secure new clients and products that generate higher margins and sustained long‑term business development.
- Establish contact with trade chambers, clients, and associations to defend market products and report unfair trade practices, as well as obtain accurate information on the market, tariffs, and import documentation.
- Manage supervisors and day‑to‑day operations in distribution, production, transportation scheduling, and chemical handling.
- Generate the budget for their area of expertise and follow up with their team to ensure achievement of targets.
- Establish guidelines and actions that ensure customer service and support levels, meeting product delivery quality and timing requirements, as well as providing technical support and specific recommendations that encourage customer retention.
- Provide the necessary data to generate required reports.
- Develop the market and optimize sales by carefully managing price negotiations. Conduct negotiations with national and international clients.
What you´ll need:
- Degree in chemistry, biology, food science or similar is a plus. Other degrees could be considered.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in pharma or food chemical sales in the distribution or manufacturing industry.
- Experience managing a sales team with a regional scope.
- Advanced english skills
- Availability to travel
Where you´ll work:
- Hybrid schedule for candidates located close to Univar Solutions´ office either in Costa Rica or Guatemala.
