About the position:
Reporting into the Key Accounts Team, the Account Manager – Energy position will be responsible for managing key corporate accounts and relationships based out of Downtown Calgary. This role serves as a primary point of contact for corporate accounts, building strong relationships, understanding business needs, and ensuring a high level of service and account satisfaction. This Account Manager will work closely with corporate contacts to coordinate account activity, deliver presentations, and conduct regular business reviews. Collaboration is a key component in this role, as you will interact with internal Account Managers and cross-functional teams. This position requires strong organizational skills, and a proactive and eager approach to managing relationships and opportunities.
What you’ll do:
- Manage and grow a portfolio of corporate accounts, while building strong partnerships with customers
- Proactively plan customer visits in advance
- Arrange frequent joint calls with internal Account Managers
- Lead regular business reviews, performance updates, and client presentations to drive account alignment and long-term value
- Coordinate internally with sales, supply chain, and customer service teams to ensure seamless execution and on-time delivery
- Co-ordinate with Purchasing department to ensure availability of product
- Utilize Salesforce.com to manage customer information during all planning phases
- Stay informed on market trends, regulatory considerations, and customer industry development relevant to chemical distribution
- Other tasks as assigned
What we would like from you:
- University Degree or College Diploma in a related field
- Minimum of 2-3 years of previous outside sales experience preferred
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across sales, operations, and internal support teams
- Self-starter with the ability to take initiative, work independently, and drive results
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, capable of prioritizing multiple accounts and deadlines effectively
- Proven ability to plan, lead, and run effective customer meetings, including setting agendas, facilitating discussions, and driving clear next steps
- Demonstrates a consistently positive, professional attitude and a customer-first mindset
- Well-spoken with strong communication skills, confident engaging with customers both verbally and in writing
