Primary Purpose:

Primary purpose of the Logistics Analyst is to perform data analysis, establish process protocols, and program management oversight of transportation programs and total cost ownership of assets.

 

Logistics Analyst will support department goals to improve transportation costs through centrally led, locally executed methodology that supports the lowest total cost of ownership model.

The position will also assist in the development of Univar Solutions Private Fleet models and programs.

This position will develop relationships with 3rd party vendors to drive total cost management strategies within transportation.

 

Education/Experience/Training/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a logistics, distribution or corporate development environment is required.
  • Prior experience in logistics/transportation and/or accounting
  • Objective viewpoint, quantitative orientation, and ability to respond quickly and positively to changes in priorities.
  • Strong documentation and organization skills, including word processing, excel spreadsheet and presentation media.
  • Ability to handle large volumes of work on routine and accelerated schedules.
  • Understands various types of transportation equipment mode applications Education/Experience/Training/Certifications
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Strong business planning, analysis, and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize data into actionable information
  • Broad understanding of business and how each function affects the profitability of the company
  • Experience assessing and analyzing strategic initiatives
  • Demonstrable strategic planning and execution experience
  • Some experience in OTM would be preferred.
  • Learns new methods and technologies easily.
  • Great at gleaning meaning from whatever data is available
  • Quick study of the new and different • Ability to use multiple problem-solving tools and techniques.
