We are currently looking for a driven, hands-on consultative technical business development professional who loves to surpass goals and excel in a fast-paced environment. The role will focus on promoting and growing Univar Solutions Pharmaceutical Ingredients' presence and share in the Biopharma industry across North America, specifically within the oligonucleotide & DNA synthesis space.

 

What you will do

  • Initiate, develop and close new opportunities within the Biopharma Industry primarily working with customer R&D, manufacturing, and business development teams.
  • Provide appropriate product recommendations, and technical and formulation support to our customers.
  • Enhance Univar Solutions' position within each account using consultative and in-depth selling at all levels within the account.
  • Actively communicate qualitative and quantitative updates using company CRM tools (Salesforce).
  • Generate industry reports, make recommendations for corrective action, and actively assist in their implementation.
  • Stay ahead of product trends and industry development and prospects for new business; conduct sales calls and actively grow the territory.
  • Work closely with the sales and product management team to establish new business and support existing business by being part of a coordinated team selling efforts.
  • Support customers during scale-up and technical transfer of projects.
  • Provide technical training on product lines both internally and externally.
  • Shares responsibility for achieving financial targets for the assigned areas.
  • Understand and interpret government and regulatory requirements in the industry.
  • Participate, network, and contribute to industry exhibition events and supplier training.
  • Publish thought-leadership content, and tradeshow technical presentations and assist in generating industry-specific marketing materials.
  • Demonstrate commitment to safety, both personal and of your colleagues.

 

What you will need

  • 5+ years of experience with a technical focus in the Biopharma industry with a proven record of accomplishment.
  • Bachelor’s degree (Chemistry, Biotech or Life science preferred)
  • Strong technical knowledge in Biopharma manufacturing processes, formulations, and applications. Understanding of the primary drivers of the Biopharma R&D process at a national and global level.
  • Able to travel up to 50% of the time. Travel may vary in frequency and duration.
  • Able to work with an elevated level of autonomy and independence.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build strong working relationships internally and externally across a diverse network.
  • Effective self-starter with an affinity to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
  • Excellent ability to understand, analyze and communicate complex scientific and technical information.
  • Experience and ease in navigating regulated markets.
