Manager, Compensation & Benefits

The Manager, Compensation and Benefits, is responsible for managing compensation and benefits programs for Univar's Chemical Distribution business unit in the Mexico region. This role leads the design, implementation, and administration of compensation policies and practices to ensure competitiveness, internal equity, and alignment with business objectives.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and manage broad-based compensation processes, programs, and policies
  • Analyze market data and internal equity to make recommendations on salary structures, pay practices, and program design
  • Partner with HR Business Partners and business leaders to provide compensation guidance and support for employee-related decisions
  • Direct the participation in and submission of global salary surveys to maintain competitive market data.
  • Support Job Code Creation in Employee Central, managing job codes within HR systems to ensure accurate and updated employee data, aligning the correct job level, type of bonus and internal paygrade.
  • AOP & Labor Cost Planning, creating labor cost projections for FTEs, contractors, and interns, incorporating salary adjustments, benefits, and workforce planning according with the local authorities in social security, taxes and the labor proposals for the government.
  • Manage benefits programs (insurance, savings funds, vouchers, fleet), including vendor negotiation, renewals, and policy optimization.

 

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 5-7+ years of progressive Compensation and Benefits management experience
  • Strong knowledge of compensation principles, practices, processes, and regulations
  • Experience with HRIS and compensation management systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • AOP & Labor Cost Planning
  • Understanding of Mexican labor law, including IMSS(Mexican Social Security), INFONAVIT(housing fund), FONACOT and the tax implications of compensation and benefits

 

Nice to have:

  • Master’s degree in human resources or related field
  • Compensation Professional (CCP) certification
