Sales Manager/Area Business Manager UK, Ireland, and Nordics
Business Unit: Care (HIC & Personal Care)
To create optimal conditions for your sales team to profitably develop Univar business within an agreed customer base / territory alongside peers and colleagues. Define and communicate Business Unit´s strategy.
Ensure you and your sales team spend as much time as is reasonably possible in front of customers looking for new opportunities and at the same time growing and strengthening relationships. Recognize market trends and take appropriate measures to address them and make profitable use of them. Within the organization you will be reporting into the Sales Director.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Manage, recruit, and motivate your sales team and ensure that the business strategy is well understood by the sales personnel.
- Manage and mentor team to ensure effective performance.
- Implement strategic plan for suppliers and customers for the respective region and/or product portfolio to build advantaged market share positions.
- Participate in preparing annual budgets, agree the monthly targets and initiatives with the sales personnel and regularly review team performance against agreed objects.
- Ensure efficient execution of the sales targets.
- Follow up & analyze the market position and monitor market trends and share by mapping customers, products, prices, suppliers, and competitors´ activity and report the market information to the correct Univar Contacts. Contribute to the Industry growth by sharing information on new suppliers and new products.
- Build strong, proactive relationships with customers to engender growth opportunities and ensure customer retention.
- Use CRM tool SFDC and other reporting tools as required, provide reports on time. Follow all company procedures and ensure the compliance of the sales team.
- Initiate or set up and complete projects, attend conferences and marketing events.
- Liaise with and communicate effectively between all functions of the business.
- Follow safety rules and see that all the sales personnel follow them.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Intermediate-level university or equivalent education preferably in technical sciences or business management.
- Previous senior working experience in sales mandatory. Experience in a business management position preferably in chemical or technical sales
- Highly driven, proactive, structured and focused on growth and development, good leadership skills, team motivator
- Strong negotiator, financial insight, sensitive
- Analytically strong, drawing the accurate conclusions to complete the correct actions.
- Excellent communication skills and understanding of working in an international environment.
- Excellent skills in local language and fluent skills in English
- Driver´s license required.
