Join us as a Technical Account Manager, where you will play a crucial role in driving sales growth by delivering essential technical services to industry customers. Employing a consultative approach, you will evaluate customer needs and differentiate Univar Solutions from the competition by showcasing our unique advantages.

In this role, you will foster long-term partnerships with customers through your industry knowledge and expertise, using Univar’s resources to develop tailored solutions that meet customer requirements while capturing valuable market intelligence.

 

What you’ll do

Internal Activities:

  • Provide product and industry training to all Sales and Sales support teams.

  • Assist with Supplier/Customer contract negotiations.

  • Support all aspects of developing business opportunities, targets, and prospecting.

  • Participate in tradeshows, industry conferences/meetings, website info, and literature development.

  • Participate in industry-related meetings and teleconferences.

  • Support the development of business plans, including goals and forecasts.

Customer Activities:

  • Assist customers with application/formulation support. Provide technical support at all levels of the customer chain.

  • Coordinate supplier meetings with key/target customers.

  • Assist in Business Development, developing technical proposals, and generating product/service application solutions.

  • Identify new service/product opportunities by supervising market changes and customer needs.

  • Review opportunities and coordinate with the local sales organization to close deals by coordinating joint visits based on the business plan and strategy.

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of local markets and products relevant to customers.

Supplier Activities:

  • Manage communication with supplier technical recourses.

  • Collaborates on developing innovative product and service solutions.

  • Assist with new product launches.

  • Assist in the qualifications of potential new suppliers/products.

 

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor's degree (technical or Chemistry degree is preferred).

  • Proven technical knowledge in the Lubricants & Metalworking Fluids (raw chemicals) industry.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with technical product and formulation knowledge.

  • Experience servicing customers at multiple levels, both internal and external, and supplier partners.

  • Proficient in the use of MS Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, are vital to communicating effectively inside and outside the organization.

  • Ability to travel within the EMEA region (20% - 25%).

 

Where you'll work

This is a home-based opportunity covering the EMEA region. Candidates located in Germany, the Netherlands, the UK, France, Sweden, or Denmark are preferred.
