What You'll Do

 

The Payroll Manager is responsible for processing all Operating Company payrolls and providing oversight of the payroll processing practices. This includes ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. The position provides both hands on payroll processing and administrative duties as well as collaborating with boundary partners and COE’s to aligning processes, reporting, as well as related policy and compliance requirements. As the Payroll Manager you will lead a team of Payroll professionals and keep track of key performance indicators (KPIs) across the gross to net payroll support model. This will include but not limited to transaction processing, customer support, ensuring SLA are met and hold the team accounting to monthly score cards. They monitor compliance with operational policies and the progress of administrative tasks.

  • Participate in strategic planning and goal setting for various business functions, including transaction processing and customer support
  • Monitor and report on department performance
  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and standard methodologies.
  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors as needed.
  • Develop documents, procedures, and training materials for payroll related procedures, policies, and systems.
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
  • Develop continuous process improvement plans
  • Responsible for all payroll processing multistate payrolls
  • Lead all aspects of processing payroll changes (e.g. new hires, terminations, raises) and system upgrades
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies
  • Collaborate closely with auditors and lead payroll tax audits
  • Collaborate with Human Resources (HR) and accounting teams
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports
  • Resolve issues and answer payroll-related questions
  • Provides leadership and is responsible for employee information collection, analysis and reporting; supervises the input of data and ensures data integrity.

 

What You’ll Need

  • 5+ years’ experience in payroll processing including at least 3 in supervisory role preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • Experience with ADP platforms required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skill related to interacting with users and professionally resolving issues.
  • Proven experience as a payroll manager
  • Excellent understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes
  • International payroll experience a plus
  • Superior critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Payroll implementation and system integration experience.
  • Bachelor’ s degree or similar education level or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Kronos, Success factors, ADP
