Manager, Compensation:

The Manager, Compensation is responsible for overseeing broad-based compensation programs and strategies for Univar's Chemical Distribution business unit. This role leads the design, implementation, and administration of compensation policies and practices to ensure competitiveness, internal equity, and alignment with business objectives. The position manages a small team and collaborates with HR partners and business leaders to deliver effective compensation solutions that attract, retain, and motivate employees.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and manage broad-based compensation processes, programs, and policies
  • Analyze market data and internal equity to make recommendations on salary structures, pay practices, and program design
  • Partner with HR Business Partners and leaders to provide compensation guidance and support for employee-related decisions
  • Manage the global annual compensation planning process, including merit, bonus, and long-term incentive programs
  • Oversee the administration of the corporate compensation email box, ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries
  • Direct the participation in and submission of global salary surveys to maintain competitive market data

 

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in compensation, with at least 2 years in a management role
  • Strong knowledge of compensation principles, practices, and regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Master’s degree in human resources or related field
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification
  • Experience with HRIS and compensation management systems
  • Knowledge of global compensation practices
