Primary Purpose

Primary responsibilities of the Finance Manager - Technology & Corporate Functions will include coordinating across Global Technology and Finance teams to manage the planning, recording, and reporting of IT costs and projects. The position will also have oversight over budgeting and reporting of HR, Finance, Legal, and other corporate functions, providing financial support and oversight.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Lead the Global Technology Function Budgeting and Reporting processes

  • Lead the preparation, consolidation and review of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP)and monthly forecast updates for Global Technology
  • Coordinate with Cost Center and project managers on Budget proposals and adjustments to meet the company’s strategic goals
  • Develop, challenge, and measure ROI analyses on proposed Technology projects
  • Prepare scenario and sensitivity analyses with financial models
  • Partner with Technology leadership to allocate and review Capital Expenditure plan

 

  • Partner closely with Project Management Office (PMO) to review project forecasts and anticipate budget variances
  • Facilitate clear, accurate, and timely communication of information to Executive Leadership and cost center leadership teams
  • Work collaboratively across geographically disparate groups
  • Coordinate across regional FP&A organizations to communicate and provide insights on Technology results and outlook

 

Oversee Budgeting and Reporting of HR, Finance, Legal, and other Corporate Functions

  • Partner with Global Function leaders to coordinate and review their annual budgets and monthly cost reporting
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and detailed financial support
  • Lead the Corporate Segment AOP process and presentation

 

Provide Financial Statement Oversight

  • Review the monthly Corporate P&L for variances against Forecast
  • Maintain financial oversight of expenses on IT managed projects to ensure Project Managers are following proper capitalization rules per policy
  • Partner with tax team and operational owners to determine appropriate allocation of IT and Corporate expenses for segment and statutory reporting
  • Work directly with function owners across IT to accurately plan, record, and report costs and project requirements.
  • Partner with Global leaders and teams for Finance, HR, Legal and other Corporate functions to provide financial support and lead budgeting / reporting processes

 

Specialized Knowledge/Skills

  • A minimum of 6-8 years’ work experience in Accounting/Finance with a track record of continual promotion and increased responsibility
  • Experienced background in Finance and Technology, including project cost capitalization GAAP and best practices
  • Strong Executive Presence and communication/presentation skills. Highly visible role.
  • Intermediate to advanced expertise in SAP BPC
  • Intermediate to advanced financial modeling skill set
  • Working knowledge of source data systems (SAP ECC, Hyperion/HFM), excel, finance master data, and data flows across multiple systems
  • Working, advanced knowledge of financial statements, management reporting and analytics, planning and forecasting, cost flow, accounting policies and procedures
  • Involvement in business strategy development and ERP implementations

 

Education/Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting is required
  • A minimum of 6-8 years’ work experience
  • MBA or CPA required
  • Public Company Experience Preferred
  • Knowledge of the distribution industry and chemical industry is desired

 

Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions:

Office environment with travel 25-50%
