Overview:
The internal communications manager will play an integral role in the development and execution of online and offline programs and projects to enhance executive visibility and brand differentiation that complements our external marketing communications efforts. Whether working directly with our global leadership team, managing digital tools, or analysing data and performance metrics, the right candidate will be organised, adaptable, creative, and highly motivated. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Global Marketing, the Internal Communications Manager will play a critical role on the marketing operations leadership team and be afforded the opportunity of executive visibility, strategic business alignment and integration, and a high level of independent responsibility and oversight.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Strategic Communication Implementation: Oversee the implementation of comprehensive internal communication strategies that foster employee engagement, enhance organisational transparency, and align with Univar Solutions I+S strategic goals.
- Content creation and distribution: Build, edit, and distribute engaging content across multiple channels, including internal newsletters, announcements, events, and other communication materials across various channels and digital platforms, ensuring consistency with our brand voice and values.
- Leadership collaboration: Partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to synchronise communication efforts, ensuring consistent messaging and messages that resonate and are aligned with the company's vision, mission, and values.
- Event management: Coordinate and manage both virtual and in-person employee events and initiatives that reinforce a positive and cohesive workplace culture, from planning to execution.
- Feedback and analysis: Regularly collect, analyse, and report on employee feedback and engagement metrics, using insights to refine, optimise, and continuously improve internal communication efforts and initiatives for maximum impact.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field is required.
- At least 5-10 years of proven experience in internal or corporate communications within a large organisation. A track record of successful executive engagement and communication planning is essential.
- Ability to think strategically about how internal communications support the overall business strategy and how they can be used to drive organisational change is valuable.
- Outstanding writing, editing, and proofreading abilities, showcasing a meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills are crucial for engaging and influencing a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Advanced skills in using digital communication tools and platforms (such as Microsoft Teams and internal content management systems) to create compelling content and foster engagement.
- Proficiency in measuring the impact of communication strategies through analytics and translating data into actionable insights for continuous improvement and to guide ongoing communication strategies.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong organisational and project management skills, including time management and the ability to meet firm deadlines, are crucial.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and business needs is key. Must be able to shift strategies and content based on evolving organisational goals or in response to feedback.
- Creative thinking to bring innovative ideas for engaging employees, enhancing communication channels, and making internal communications more interactive.
