The Regulatory Compliance Manager ensures company adherence to all regulatory, legal, and product quality concerns as governed by Federal, State, and Local Agencies. Manages Supplier and Customer expectations in the handling and shipping of all ChemPoint products. Leads and manages a team to execute strategies aimed at promoting sound regulatory compliance principles and practices and implements to ensure continuous improvement across our compliance program. Scope of role spans across Health & Safety Programs, product compliance, international trade regulation and environmental compliance.


A DAY IN YOUR NEW CAREER:

  • Partners with cross functional leaders to ensure processes, systems, and policies are in place to support and enforce regulatory compliant activity and best-practices for imports, exports, and product handling as governed by the Safety Data Sheet. 
  • Analyzes and interprets compliance trends to determine needs and adjust project requirements as necessary. 
  • Develops, modifies, and implements company policies in alignment with regulations that affect immediate operations and may also have a company-wide effect. 
  • Designs and executes processes that support regulatory compliance policies and may span across company teams. 
  • Sets supplier and customer expectations and manages requests related to product information. 
  • Provides technical consultation to internal team members and stakeholders. 
  • Manages Safety Data Sheet (SDS) documentation. 
  • Responsible for the implementation and execution of all Compliance projects and initiatives, either within the team, or as part of a larger project across the organization. 
  • Establishes operational objectives and work plans delegated to team members. 
  • Provides overall direction and continued support as projects are implemented. 
  • Serves as a primary point of escalation internally and externally for all Compliance- related issues. 
  • Escalates and informs senior management of non-conforming activity or events.
  • Consults with senior management on upcoming regulatory changes that will affect the business. 

 

DESIRED BACKGROUND AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related fields from a fully accredited four year institution is required. 
  • Experience in Business-to-Business (B2B) service organization or 5 years’ experience in equivalent job(s) preferred. 
  • Direct supervision for exempt and non-exempt employees on the Regulatory Compliance team. 
  • Knowledge and experience working with MS Office Suite, with strong Excel skills. 
  • Knowledge and experience working with Safety Data Sheets. 
  • Maintains current and relevant knowledge base of regulations pertinent to ChemPoint’s products and practices. 
  • Ability to maintain knowledge of applicable corporate, federal, state and local regulatory requirements for product, environmental, and general regulatory compliance. 
  • Ability to lead by demonstrating desired behaviors (i.e., work ethic, team player).

  • Capable of inspiring others to consistently strive for high quality performance and continuous improvements.
