At ChemPoint, the success of our unique Operations process depends on continuously strengthening our business relationships.  The Product Manager manages, optimizes, and grows ChemPoint product lines in accordance with supplier investment and objectives and ChemPoint’s strategic aims.

A DAY IN YOUR NEW CAREER:

  • Acts as liaison and primary ChemPoint contact for suppliers understands and leverages supplier partnership opportunities while packaging and presenting marketing & sales data to set and manage supplier expectations.
  • Analyzes sales results and market information pertaining to product lines and provides workflow and direction to marketing team via campaign strategy.
  • In partnership with Marketing Manager, builds marketing plans and coordinates internal strategies for product lines that incorporate supplier and internal objectives and ensures alignment by effectively implementing & monitoring sales execution, providing product line training and offering first line support on pricing issues.
  • Works with Demand Planning and Supply Chain teams, using knowledge of the customer-base and industry to plan monthly/yearly projections for what will be sold and what will need to be bought to service the customer-base.
  • Identifies and builds strategy for growing sales based on industry and global trends.
  • Demonstrates job competencies and remains accountable for performance in area of responsibility.

DESIRED BACKGROUND AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from fully accredited four-year institution or equivalent work experience required.
  • Experience in business to business sales organization, preferably as a Market Developer, or 5+ equivalent technical sales experience.
  • Experience and strong knowledge of using PC and Windows OS.
  • Knowledge and experience working with MS Office Suite, with strong Excel skills.
  • Ability to determine and establish appropriate collaboration and communication points (people, teams, organizational relationships) to achieve supply chain and service advantages and targeted solutions.
  • Consultative selling skills.
  • Exhibits some versatility when interacting with customers, suppliers, and outsourced relationships.
  • Effectively conveys ideas and concepts via multiple modes of communication, including excellent telephone skills.
  • Knowledge of ChemPoint products & services and the industries we serve.
  • Problem-solving and negotiation.
  • Customer and territory management.
  • Knowledge of pricing and marketing strategy.
  • Understanding of ChemPoint IT applications, XRM database experience preferred.
  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time. Travel may vary in frequency and duration.
