At ChemPoint, the Infrastructure Engineer aids in the architecture, development, implementation, and maintenance of our client, core, and enterprise infrastructure on a global level, including data center, cloud computing, desktop services, mobile devices, communication, and operating system strategy.  This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced developer to join an agile and growing team. You will assist in developing processes, policies and procedures that improve efficiency, reduce security concerns and minimize exposure to risk.  The ideal candidate is able to adapt to emerging technology and strengthen the efficiency and flexibility of our assets.  Your ability to mentor our Enterprise Technology and Client Support Teams while assisting with daily support tickets, as point of contact or escalation point, is imperative.


  • Works with the Technology Manager, Infrastructure & Service Desk to implement a scalable system to support the business’s growing list of applications on a global basis.
  • Assists in identifying opportunities to utilize emerging technology that will increase efficiency and flexibility.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of scalable enterprise (server, network) and client architecture.
  • Assists in identifying business continuity risk exposure of unplanned downtime.
  • Implementation & Maintenance:
    • Maintains production and stage systems.
    • Installs server hardware, operating system software and production applications.
  • Manages:
    • Projects for hardware/software deployments and modifications
    • Active Directory/Group Policy
    • IP Telephony & Fax
    • UCMA Management
    • SAN management
    • Vendors and scheduling
  • Tunes monitoring solutions for environmental awareness.
  • Automates where possible using the preferred solution: Powershell & Python.
  • Assists with virtualization infrastructure (Private and Cloud) management.
  • Assists with the enterprise networking infrastructure management.
  • Monitors enterprise system performance and delivers service level requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with Infrastructure principles, processes and procedures.
  • Measures and communicates resource utilization.
  • Develops detailed project plans for large projects.
  • Develops and maintains documentation including server build docs, configuration standards, and infrastructure architecture.
  • Works with development teams to architect delivery of global SaaS offerings.
    • Storage (NAS) environments
    • Virtualization infrastructure (Private and Cloud)
  • Developing enterprise monitoring and automation.
  • Acts as the lead on:
    • Active Directory and Group Policy
    • System Center Suite (CM, SM, OM, OCH, VMM)
    • Managing all communication (voice, fax, UC, data) network equipment
  • Managing the current Storage Area Networks (SAN) & Network Attached.
  • Participates in an on call support 24/7 rotation for all the enterprise infrastructure.



  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field from fully accredited four year institution or equivalent years of work experience preferred.
  • MCSE certification or the demonstration of knowledge and skills that are equivalent.
  • Vmware VCP 5 or above is desired.
  • ITIL or other ITSM service framework is desired.
  • Significant experience in infrastructure architecture, data center, servers and networks.
  • Strong experience with Azure/AWS (IaaS implementations)
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL 2008, 2012, 2014, 2016 - DBA focus
  • Strong experience with Microsoft products in general. Up-to-date with Windows Server & Enterprise products, e.g. Windows 2012 R2 Core, Windows 2016 nano & Docker.
  • Strong Experience with IP Telephony, on-prem PBX (Lync, preferred), SBC Technologies (Acme, preferred), SIP 2.0.
  • Experience with emerging technology, such as cloud computing, desktop virtualization, unified communication, etc.
  • Must have experience managing on-premises solutions.
  • Interaction with a global team, consultants, vendors, technology team and the business.
  • Familiarity with working with MSPs, especially regarding project planning is required.
  • Ability to understand the financials of IT products and services.
  • Strong experience with Exchange 2010 and Office 365 messaging platforms.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Active Directory management.
  • Strong understanding of disaster recovery, backup and restoration procedures.
  • Strong experience with VMWare/ESXi/managing servers in a virtual environment.
  • Strong experience with SAN storage and its connectivity, specifically Nimble.
  • Proficient in business software, including MS Outlook, Microsoft Office, and Visio applications.
  • Strong experience in networking. dynamic routing protocols, Cisco IOS, HP ProCurve, Meraki, MPLS & WAN and redundancy protocols.
  • Experience designing and implementing solutions using F5 Technologies, LTM and iRule development.
  • Strong experience in troubleshooting Layer 7 issues.
  • Strong experience in troubleshooting network (LAN) software related to operations, administration, user accounts, and systems security.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in order to convey information concisely and to a diverse audience.
  • Excellent customer services skills and the ability to communicate with individuals of all levels, internal and external contacts, and to the organization.
  • Strong desire to constantly be up-to-date with the best technology tools and products for the business.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance concurrent projects with fixed time commitments.
  • Strong experience in managing a data center. Environmental and battery backup knowledge required.
  • Ability to sit or stand for frequent periods in the same location.
  • Ability to stoop or lift material or equipment up to 50 pounds.
