The District Solvents Manager executes strategies necessary to maximize profitable business growth for Univar Solutions’ Solvent Line of Business within designated geography. This includes management of key tactical processes to ensure that Univar Solutions delivers on commitments to customers and suppliers.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Supports day-to-day execution of product management strategies: pricing, supplier share, etc.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with suppliers. 
  • Analyzes performance metrics relative to supplier commitments and recommends actions to support.
  • Conducts negotiations with suppliers within product portfolio.
  • Work with PMM to provide feedback on supplier rebate performance and execute action items relative to rebate.
  • Drive Target and Must Win development and execution with Sales Organization.
  • Uses data for internal decision making regarding pricing and product allocation as well as supplier relationship building.
  • Provides guidance to local commercial teams regarding market pricing.
  • Executes on identified Value Capture opportunities in collaboration with Supply Chain and Operations.
  • Provides product and market updates to the Commercial organization.

 
Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in business, science, or a technical field. MBA desired.
  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial experience (sales, marketing, product management)
  • Solid understanding of the chemical distribution business model
  • Effective relationship builder both externally and internally
  • Experience coordinating effectively across many functions to gain alignment and influence execution
  • Able to manage multiple projects with high levels of detail
  • Projects a professional and positive image both inside and outside of the company
  • Ability to establish strong working relationships and influence action
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills and strong business acumen
  • Strong organizational, time management skills, and ability to prioritize
  • Demonstrated ability to make data driven decisions and recommendations
  • Must be able to travel as needed however minimal travel is required in this role; up to 20%
