Primary Purpose:

ChemPoint digital properties are used to grow our customer base and provide value through application usability, visibility, and data sharing with our supplier partners.

 

The Web Product Owner will drive the strategy and product process for web features on ChemPoint.com and associated websites, it takes a well-rounded view across all websites to balance business impact and operational success while leading the backlog of projects for the web development and design teams. We are seeking a proven performer to run the implementation of supporting web programs, projects, and initiatives.

 

This role will act as a liaison between the development team and the business customers. The position will include understanding of the application roadmap, the creation of developer-actionable user stories, ownership of the backlog, feature acceptance and release, frequent and clear communication of progress, collaboration with team members, user research, testing, web analytics, website administration, and marketing support.

 

WHAT YOU´LL DO:

Business Partnership

  • Collaborate with customers to gather feedback or requirements to ensure features address business needs and meet user acceptance. Build a trusted advisory relationship with customers and articulate business needs into incremental work.

  • Maintain current and future state roadmap visibility and communicates value and progress.

  • Provide product updates, application analytics, and prioritization workshops.

  • Manage many requests at once, plan work many sprints in advance, and offer website administrative assistance to the marketing team.

 

Software Development 

  • Oversee scrum team – including sprint ceremonies, sprint goals, execution metrics, user story ownership, definition/acceptance of done, backlog management, and related communications.

  • Promoter of scrum best practices and continuous improvement.

  • Acts as point of escalation for application and communicates issues as needed

  • Responsible for approving application designs

  • Prioritize and lead the product backlog based on business value, technical feasibility, and user impact, ensuring that the team is always working on the most valuable features

 

Collaboration

  • Alignment behind strategic objectives and helps frame tactical plans for execution which includes timing, impact to business users, and opportunity cost to other initiatives

  • Assists with facilitating brainstorming related to process, change management, and connection to broader business objectives.

  • Provides recommendations for, and gains alignment on, priority of technology initiatives

  • Provides regular updates on progress of active work (measure, inspect, and adapt), obstacles encountered, and feedback of recent releases.

 

Roles and Responsibilities within technology

  • Collaborate across peer Product Owners for feature iteration coordination.

  • Supervise time entry cleanliness of scrum team for financial accounting.

  • Support internal IT process for maintenance and solution evaluation

  • Demonstrate cross functional productive leadership to all parts of technology

  • Facilitate ideation and prioritization of features with customers and/or within PI planning

  • Communicate application vision to technology for future resource or build planning

 

WHAT YOU´LL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a fully accredited four-year institution or equivalent work experience 

  • 2+ years’ experience in business-to-business service organization, preferably as a Product Owner, Product Analyst, or similar role in a digital or software development environment with specific experience developing websites

  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, and experience working in an Agile development environment

  • Proficient in creating user stories, product specifications, and other product-related documentation

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making

  • This person will work on Pacific time.

  • Familiarity with marketing concepts, user experience, project management, and customer service principles.

  • Strong agile mindset and understanding of methodology, ceremonies, and best practices. Experience managing a backlog.

  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills for developing solutions or strategies for websites, while aligning to global company vision.

 

PAY & BENEFITS:

The salary range for this position is USD 87,200 - 130,800. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive pay.  Available employee benefits include health, vision, and dental.  We also provide 401k matching for retirement and paid time off.
