Role Purpose:

The Director, Product & Industry Management provides strategic and operational leadership across ChemPoint’s supplier-focused product portfolio model.  This role ensures that Industry Management and Product Portfolio Management operate with consistency, clarity, and global alignment.  This role supports the Supplier Development function by delivering durable growth and identifying opportunities to expand ChemPoint’s existing supplier relationships to new customers, new products, or new geographies.

 

This leader strengthens ChemPoint’s ability to deliver value to suppliers, maintain portfolio focus, and support commercial and Supplier Development teams with a well-run operating model.  The role ensures ChemPoint presents a unified, informed, and strategic approach to supplier partners.

 

What you'll do:

    1. Leadership of Industry & Product Management
      1. Directly leads Industry Managers; provides coaching and oversight to Product Portfolio Managers.
      2. Establishes clear expectations, operating rhythms, and performance visibility to keep teams aligned and effective.
      3. Strengthens leadership capability and develops strategic decision-making within the Industry Management and Product Portfolio groups.
      4. Ensures roles, responsibilities, and handoffs across the product and supplier engagement ecosystem are clear and consistently followed.
    1. Operating Model & Process Excellence
      1. Enhances and governs processes that ensure Industry Management and Product Portfolio Management can scale effectively with business growth.
      2. Ensures consistent application of established Product Line (PL) principles and portfolio management practices across NA and EMEA.
      3. Leads onboarding and ongoing capability development for product and industry focused roles.
      4. Partners with Enterprise Effectiveness and Technology teams to deliver digital tools, dashboards, processes, and systems that support internal and supplier-facing product portfolio work
    1. Supplier & Portfolio Strategy Execution
      1. Reinforces portfolio priorities and helps ensure internal teams are aligned to the right opportunities and strategic focus areas.
      2. Represents ChemPoint at an executive level with key suppliers in partnership with Supplier Development, ensuring clear expectations, relationship continuity, and aligned objectives.
      3. Helps internal teams apply a unified approach to supplier conversations, performance reviews, and communication of ChemPoint’s value proposition.
    1. Cross-Functional Commercial Alignment
      1. Collaborates closely with Supplier Development and Business Development to support supplier transitions, portfolio additions, and long-term supplier planning.
      2. Aligns Product Management, Marketing, Sales, and Industry Management to ensure campaigns, commercial activities, and supplier commitments are delivered reliably.
      3. Identifies opportunities to streamline workflows and improve clarity across teams, enhancing commercial performance end-to-end.
    1. Financial & Planning Accountability
      1. Oversees the budget for Industry & Product Management and ensures sound use of resources.
      2. Contributes to AOP planning, focusing on portfolio performance, resourcing needs, and strategic priorities.
      3. Ensures operational investments align with ChemPoint’s broader strategic direction and supplier commitments.

  • Supplier Partners: Executive-level representation, alignment, and continuity.

  • Supply Chain: Optimize inventory and improve accuracy on demand forecasting.

 

What you'll need:

Capabilities

  • Leadership experience in product strategy, supplier engagement, or commercial operations.

  • Strong ability to build KPIs, performance visibility, and effective operating rhythms.

  • Executive communication skills with confidence representing ChemPoint to senior external partners.

  • Strength in cross-functional alignment and leading through influence.

  • Demonstrated ability to design, enhance, and scale operating models.

  • Comfortable working at both strategic and tactical levels.

  • Familiarity with ChemPoint’s business model, digital capabilities, and product offerings preferred.

Pay & Benefits

The salary range for this position is $185,000 -$210,000. The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive pay. Available employee benefits include health, vision, and dental. We also provide 401k matching for retirement and paid time off.
